A Little About Us:

          Hello! My name is James D. Childers and I am the Pastor at the Mason First Church of God. My wife, Pam, and I were married in June of 1975. Pam currently works as an instructional aide in Special Education Department with the Mason City Schools. At church, she serves as one of our piano players, the church secretary and works with the children's ministry.

          Together we have two children; Ryan - 29, and Vanessa - 23. Ryan and his wife Katie reside in Ohio County, Kentucky. They are both teachers in the Ohio County School System. Vanessa is now a copy editor and page designer for the "Idaho Statesman", in Boise, Idaho.

          My wife Pam and I have been at the Mason First Church of God since November of 2002. I was called into the ministry in 1991. I was licensed by the Church of God Reformation Movement in 1994. I was ordained by the Church of God in 1996.

          My first pastorate was in 1995 at the Alton First Church of God, in Alton, Illinois. While serving as the pastor in Alton, I also worked as a sales representative for a refractories company. After 7 years as a bi-vocational minister in Illinois, I received the full time pastorate at the Mason, First Church of God in August of 2002, but did not officially begin until November of that year.

          If you are saved from your sins, washed in the blood of Christ, you are a member of the Church of the living God. Neither race, color, or financial status will determine your acceptance. We invite and encourage you to become a part of our fellowship, where salvation makes you a member. We feel that the Mason First Church of God will be the end of your search for a loving and caring church.
